Summer Isn't Over Yet: An Afternoon of Food, Friends & Connection

Sun 23 Aug · 4:30pm · Trinity Bellwoods Park

Hosted by Social Sip x Sauté Sundays📅 August 23, 12:30 – 3:30 PM📍 Trinity Bellwoods Park (Queen and Gore Vale) ✨ Newsletter subscribers receive early access before public release. A summer gathering to help Toronto's community connect over food. SocialSip and Sauté Sundays are teaming up for an afternoon in the park, with Endless Summer Cookbook by Katie Lee as our loose inspiration. Easy, summery dishes made for eating outside. Everyone brings a dish. That's the whole format! You make something, we all share it. Yes, everyone cooks. It's a potluck (that's what makes it work). How it works: 🥘 Pick a recipe and cook it at home (8–10 portions)(available on Libby)📖 No cookbook? Message us — we'll send you the recipe🍴 Bring your dish to share (6–8 portions) — everyone participates💬 Eat, wander, and meet people you wouldn't have met otherwise The afternoon: 12:30 – Arrivals, dish drop-off, name tags & welcome drinks1:00 – Quick hellos from SocialSip and Sauté Sundays1:10 – Dish intros — everyone who cooked shares what they made and why1:30 – Eat, mingle, repeat2:30 – Closing words2:40 – Casual hangout (we'll ring a bell every 10 min if you want a gentle nudge to meet someone new) About the hosts SocialSip creates intentional social experiences that make meeting new people feel easy, bringing together students, young professionals, creatives, founders, and freelancers looking for genuine connection in Toronto. Sauté Sundays is a community cookbook club. Every month, members cook from the same cookbook and gather around a shared table for good food and better company. Together we're combining both communities for one summer afternoon. Come with friends or come solo, either way you'll leave with new connections. Dress code: ☀️ bright colours ☀️ We're leaning into late summer with a dress code inspired by Zara Larsson's Midnight Sun. Vibrant colours, sunny tones, breezy silhouettes, playful patterns — golden hour in a park. Bold yellow, colourful linen, bright florals, or whatever your statement piece is. Help us make the picnic as vibrant as the food. Not enforced, just encouraged 💛 🎨 Mood board: https://pin.it/60rPZmwea A few friendly notes: ✅ A confirmation email will be sent after you RSVP. If you don't see it, feel free to reach out.✅ Please choose your recipe and add your name to the sign-up sheet within 3 days of RSVPing (or sooner if the event is within a week). This keeps the table balanced and fair.🧺 Bring a blanket if you have one, plus your own plate, cutlery, and a container for leftovers.☀️ This is an outdoor event — we'll share a rain plan closer to the date.📸 By joining this gathering, you consent to photography and videography that may be shared on social media. Cancellation & Waitlist If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your seat to someone on the waitlist. If a seat opens: 2+ days before the event — 24 hours to confirm 1 day before — 4 hours Within 48 hours — openings are typically shared in our WhatsApp community Waitlist movement closes 12 hours before the event. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations without notice may affect your place in future early access — out of fairness to everyone who put in the time to cook.
