Techno Romanticism V1
A one-day gallery celebrating the relationship between Humans × Technology. Technology is usually discussed through data centres, compute, energy and model performance. Techno-Romanticism begins somewhere else: with the curiosity, obsession and imagination that compel people to build in the first place. We take inspiration from the Romantic movement. Its artists pushed against a world governed only by reason and machinery, placing emotion, nature, imagination and human experience back at the centre. Techno-Romanticism brings that spirit to the technology around us. For one day, all three floors of Sanctuary Parc will become a living exhibition of this relationship. Through 10+ installations spanning art, music, food, gaming, finance and robotics, we will explore how technology changes the way we create, remember, move, play and connect. This is not a conference or a product showcase. Come to wander, participate and encounter technology not only as a tool, but as culture: something shaped by human ambition, imagination and wonder. A glimpse of what awaits: 1. Moving Cultures Across the City, with Paxi What happens when childhood nostalgia grows wheels? Paxi transforms a car boot into a travelling Pokémon card shop, carrying rare finds and collector culture across Bengaluru. A pop-up built around cards, chance and the strangers who meet through them. 2. Murmurs of a Quantum Sensor, with Dirac Labs The Earth has a magnetic memory, and Dirac Labs is learning to read it. Using quantum sensors, it turns the planet’s invisible magnetic fingerprint into a way to navigate without GPS. A machine that finds direction by listening to forces we cannot see. 3. Love, Life and Robots, with EyeCandy Robotics What if robots were not merely tools, but characters? EyeCandy Robotics gives machines movement, personality and a sense of play. A glimpse into a future where technology is built not only to work, but also to perform, respond and delight. And this is only the beginning. More than 200 people registered before we announced Techno-Romanticism publicly. It is now open to everyone. This event is part of Basecamp by Elevation Capital, a community-powered tech week bringing Bengaluru’s founders, builders and operators together. Techno-Romanticism is for artists, builders, designers, researchers, technologists and anyone curious about the things humans make and how those things remake us. Open call for installations We are accepting proposals from artists, designers, technologists, researchers and independent makers who would like to present an installation, object or experiment at Techno-Romanticism V1.
