[Cinema Discussion Group]: Fight Club + American Gangster

DETAILS AND HOW THE ACTIVITY WORKS We continue with a new edition of the film club. On this occasion, we will discuss the following films: El Club de la Lucha, 1997, David Fincher American Gangster, 2007, Ridley Scott Check the links above to see availability on streaming platforms. They are also available in libraries/media libraries. Estimated duration of the debate: approximately 2 hours. GENERAL RULES (Pricing and pass policy, Debate/discussion flow, Cancellation policy) Please refer to the general group description in the "About / What we're about" section. Knowledge of these rules is a mandatory requirement to attend the activity. SPECIFIC RULES FOR THIS EVENT 1. Each attendee must have watched the films featured in the event on their own. 2. It is required to purchase at least one drink or item at the venue. 3. If a quorum of FIVE or more people is not reached, the activity may be canceled, by prior agreement among the registered members and with at least 24 hours' notice. 4. If you are not going to attend, please cancel your RSVP well in advance so that someone else can take your place. (THE FOLLOWING IS HISTORICAL INFORMATION. IT NO LONGER APPLIES) DETAILS AND HOW THE ACTIVITY WORKS The "SESIÓN DOBLE" film club activity is a monthly event where event attendees choose the movies to watch! It is managed using the NUEVAS PROPUESTAS tab of the proposed movies spreadsheet. These are the rules: 1. MOVIE PROPOSALS: Only attendees confirmed for the activity (not those on the waiting list) may add new proposals to the spreadsheet. There is no limit to the number of movies each attendee can propose. Each proposal entered in the spreadsheet must specify the Title (with a link to Filmaffinity), Year, Director, and Sponsor of the proposal. Movies of any genre (including animation and documentaries) and in any original language may be proposed. 2. VOTING OPENS: Attendees confirmed for the activity can vote as soon as the previous month's "SESIÓN DOBLE" event has concluded. Each attendee can vote for as many movies as they want (no limit), as long as THEY ARE NOT THEIR OWN PROPOSALS (you cannot vote for yourself). 3. VOTING CLOSES: Voting will close a couple of weeks before the event. In the event of a tie between movies, the movie that was proposed first will win. 4. Once voting is closed and the 2 winning movies are known, it is mandatory for the sponsors of the 2 winning movies to attend the event (if they were signed up for it). If any of them eventually has to cancel, they must send me an email explaining the unexpected circumstance (it doesn't need to be a force majeure, but reasonable enough to justify not attending). 5. Each participant will watch the 2 chosen movies on their own (via streaming, libraries, media libraries, cinemas, etc.) and we will discuss them during the event.
