Gott Peak and/or Gotcha Peak Hike...
Please read the ENTIRE event details so you don't ask questions already answered and/or leave gear behind!! Those who refuse to bring their 10 Essentials should NOT expect others to solve your problems. If one can't afford all 10 Essentials, please contact me (Shawn) for ideas so you can attend AND stay safe. www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html If there are more hikers than drivers, then I will rent a 7-seater SUV and divide the costs among the seven. Gott Peak is the easier of the two peaks. I don't know allot of people who can do both peaks in one stint. So, do research and decide which peak you want to do. I will be doing Gott Peak. It is higher and you can see more. HIKING STATS: Region: Lillooet Rating: Intermediate (High End) to Difficult (Low End) Length: 12 km (Round Trip) Elevation Gain: 1,055 meters (17.6% incline) Pace: Intermediate (micro-breaks) Hiking Time: 5-6 hrs (Est.) \www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/british-columbia/gotcha-peak-and-gott-peak-via-blowdown-pass--2 \https://forums.clubtread.com/27-british-columbia/43250-dummies-guide-gott-gotcha-peaks-nr-duffy-lake.html CARPOOLING: The number of people able to attend depends entirely on number of driver's and vehicles. Only once you are added to the Going list, are you allowed to contact drivers to ask for a seat. Contact drivers directly to ensure they have room. For those carpooling, the payment generally accepted is $8 CDN per hour of driving per person. We don't need a list of those who can't attend or can't do it. Only those in the Going List are allowed to post in the Comment Section. If you have a question before RSVP'ing, please PM the Host. By RSVP'ing Yes for this event, you acknowledge having read and agreeing to the rules and waiver for this group. To have your RSVP Accepted, every attendee must display a clear, unobstructed and current close up photo of themselves. If you do NOT answer all of the questions in your profile, and/or if you input random characters to fake an answer, your RSVP will be Ignored!! Until corrected, those in the Wait List behind you with a proper profile will be Accepted. FITNESS: This hike is listed at a Difficult rating. Make sure you ARE ABLE to go the distance and CAN do the elevation!! The pace will be intermediate, not slow, but with my usual microbreaks. As a group, technically a cohesion of individuals, members are expected to support everyone in completing the hike. While I strive to leave no one behind, each hiker is solely responsible for their well-being and their capacity to finish the hike! If you cannot continue, you are solely responsible to return to parking lot. This may require you to wait for your driver to return or for a driver to wait until passengers return. SAFETY: This hike is weather dependent! The hike will ONLY occur under ideal conditions. For example, if there is NO significant rain/snow that could compromise trail conditions, if there is NO increase in need for professional gear, and/or NO increase in avalanche conditions that could contribute to unnecessary risk(s). If there is a chance of postponing, a comment will be posted on Friday by 7pm. Leave a trip plan with a responsible person, explaining your destination, the route you are taking, who is with you, and estimated return time! HEALTH: If you have any medical conditions that could be an issue during the hike, please speak with the Host so I can be best prepared in the event of an emergency. This is voluntary. All information is kept confidential. I am NOT a paramedic and responses are limited in remote settings. It is better to plan ahead, instead of making last minute decisions in what is usually a worst-case-scenario. NO GUESTS. This is a closed group of dedicated, responsible, and like-minded people sharing enjoyable outdoor experiences. If a friend is interested in going, have them join the group; it's free. Unless stated by the organizer of this event, NO kids and NO dogs allowed.
