Meet at Craigleith cycle path intersection for 10.15am departure. Approx 30 miles. Not ideal for skinny smooth tyres flowing through Hopetoun estate. After a pre ride briefing, we'll head out to Dalmeny and South Queensferry via Crammond Brig. Pausing to catch our breathe at top of climbs. We'll take the old railway path with views of the Forth Rail Bridge and then ride under the Forth Forth bridge along the road to Hopetoun House estate. Lovely flowing traffic free scenic track - watch out for the wild life! We'll pop out at Blackness and head along to the castle grounds for a PICNIC lunch. Free access to the castle grounds and toilets. Hot drinks and ice cream on sale at castle shop (no food). Similar route back to Craigleith, with slight deviation through South Queensferry. Please unsure your bike is in good working order and carry a spare tube to fit your bike along with any tools required to remove your wheel.
