A Manifesto for the AI journey

Tue 4 Aug · 5:30am · ezyVet (IDEXX Veterinary Software)

How do you go from AI proof of concepts in your organisation to embedding AI in your operating model without creating chaos or ending up in a dark place? Rebecca and Duncan will give an overview of ezyVet’s AI implementation journey, and then Anthony will introduce the Makers Manifesto, a set of values and principles developed globally for organisations who are on this journey. In the first part of this talk, Rebecca Kemp and Duncan Crawford from ezyVet (part of IDEXX Software) will share how their product, engineering, and UX teams are rethinking product development in the age of AI — moving from "1,000 blossoms bloom" experimentation to a deliberate approach built on tooling, capability-building, and a shared cross-functional framework. Expect real examples of what's working, like building PRDs directly from Claude transcripts, alongside an honest look at the role ambiguity and anxiety this shift creates, and how they're leading through it with clarity and optimism. Following this Anthony Marter will introduce the Makers Manifesto - a global collaboration created by 45 product leaders from around the world which makes a statement on what good looks like for an AI enabled product making organisation. He’ll tell the story of how this came to be from\, wrangled from the opinions of global leaders like Martin Eriksson\, Christina Wodtke and Matt LeMay\, and how it has a uniquely Aussie and Kiwi flavour. This will then be followed by a mini feedback workshop where you’ll get the chance to give your thoughts on the Makers Manifesto, which will help to inform the next iteration of this. Livestream details are TBC - watch this space! Massive thanks to IDEXX for hosting and sponsoring this event. FYI this is a free event - you do not need a meetup subscription to RSVP/attend! So you can click past the upsell dialogs that you'll possibly get when RSVPing.
