Ollie Walk: Tampines Heritage Trail & Kopitiam Feast
Celebrate the National Day long weekend with a scenic heartland adventure! 🇸🇬 Be sure to hit "Join Group" on Evening Walks (if you haven't done so yet) to stay updated on all our upcoming trail walks and social gatherings across Singapore! For this Tampines edition, we are exploring the official Walking Trails @ CDC: Tampines route—extending the official 4.3km path into a ~6km evening walk that takes us past cultural landmarks, iconic heartland murals, and peaceful neighborhood green spaces, concluding right at the vibrant Tampines Regional Centre. Event Schedule 5:30 PM – Main Event: Meet at Tampines East MRT Station, Exit D (Please be punctual!) [Note: Unlike our previous walks, there is no Pre-Event Tea for this walk] ~8:00 PM – Optional Post-Event Dinner: Kopitiam Food Court @ Tampines Mall (Level 4) The Route & Checkpoints We will walk approximately 6km at a comfortable, conversational pace. The trail covers five official heritage checkpoints before we take an extended path to wrap up our walk at Tampines Central: Checkpoint 1: Tampines East MRT Station Exit D (Starting Point) Checkpoint 2: Tampines Chinese Temple Restroom & Hydration Stop: Tampines North Community Club Checkpoint 3: Tampines Blk 410 Wall Mural (The iconic TV Test Pattern Building!) Checkpoint 4: Masjid Darul Ghufran Checkpoint 5: Tampines Central Park End Point: After concluding the official CDC trail at Tampines Central Park, we will continue walking into the heart of Tampines Regional Centre. Our walk ends at Tampines Mall, which connects seamlessly to Tampines MRT Station (EW2/DT32) for easy transport home. Mid-Point Drop Out If you prefer a shorter walk, you can easily drop out at the Tampines North Community Club (restroom stop) or Tampines Blk 410 (checkpoint 3), where public transport and feeder buses back to Tampines MRT Station are readily available. Special Side Quest: The Ollie Hunt! For those who love interactive fun, this walk features a "phygital" (physical + digital) experience similar to Pokémon GO! Using GovTech’s CrowdTaskSG platform, participants can hunt for virtual Ollies (cute mascot birds) hidden at points along the trail. Participation in the Ollie hunt is completely optional. How to participate: Set up your free account beforehand at 👉 GovTech CrowdTaskSG Walking Trails On event day: Charge up your smartphone and bring it along Optional Post-Event Dinner: Kopitiam @ Tampines Mall After our walk, unwind over the long weekend and catch up with fellow members! We will head to Tampines Mall—the flagship premier shopping destination in Tampines—to dine at its revamped, air-conditioned Kopitiam Food Court (Level 4). Kopitiam features a comfortable, modern setting with an impressive lineup of 20 hawker stalls, including 3 standout favourites: HJH Maimunah Mini: The famous Michelin Bib Gourmand-recommended stall serving traditional Malay/Indonesian Nasi Padang (don't miss their tahu telor, beef rendang, and sambal goreng)! Shi Hui Yuan: A renowned Michelin Heritage-awarded stall specializing in Cantonese braised herbal duck and chicken Hor Fun steeped in a rich, 30-year collagen gravy. Riverside Indonesian BBQ: A hugely popular pick for tender grilled chicken (Ayam Panggang) and squid sets coated in delicious sweet black sauce and curry.
