Join us every week at Shift Espresso Bar | Riverlands in the heart of Observatory for fun, fast-paced writing games. We gather each week to kickstart our imaginations and sharpen our craft. Please note: enter after 18:00 for R10 parking. Optional free parking across the road, next to traffic light, at Blackriver Park. Start of event @ 18:15 What to Expect Our sessions are all about play. We use fun, fast-paced writing games designed to quiet your inner critic and get the creative juices flowing. Whether you're a seasoned novelist or haven't picked up a pen since school, these games are built to help you grow. The Flow • Create: We’ll dive into a few guided prompts and exercises. • Share (Optional!): After each round, the floor is open to share what you’ve written. It’s a supportive, "no-judgment" zone—if you'd rather keep your words to yourself, that is perfectly okay! • Connect: Meet fellow writers in one of Cape Town’s most creative neighborhoods. The Essentials • Gear: Bring whatever you’re comfortable with—a classic notebook and pen or your laptop. • Support the Space: Entry is free, but please help us thank Obz Café for hosting us by ordering a drink or a snack from their menu. • Stay Updated: Occasionally, the venue might shift if the restaurant has a private function.
