In-person event: Shut Up & Write! at The Good Intent, Great Western Arcade

Start your week creatively, with a relaxed hour of writing in the company of other writers. We believe that having a group quietly writing alongside you can help with focus and productivity (and be enjoyable, too!). Whether you’re trying to produce a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just something for your work, you are invited to write it with us. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. And don’t worry, no one will demand to see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. SCHEDULE: 7.00 pm – Arrive, get yourself something to drink/eat, and introduce yourself and your goals for the session (if you want) 7.20 pm - Timer starts: write for 1 hour. If you arrive late, that’s fine; just grab a seat and quietly start your writing. 8.20 pm - Feel free to either leave or stick around for a while to chat and discuss how the session went, or maybe even write for a little longer WHERE: The Good Intent Pub in the Great Western Arcade on Temple Row, by the Cathedral (32-33 Great Western Arcade, B2 5HU). You’ll find us on a table (with a sign), in the room at the top of the stairs and to your right. FAQs: Is it free? Yes! But please show your gratitude to our hosts by purchasing something to eat or drink. Is there public WiFi at the venue? Yes. Please ask at the bar for connection details. However, in case this is not fast or reliable enough for your needs, it is recommended that you come prepared to work without it (or to use your phone as a hotspot). Are there places to charge up my devices? Yes, there are plug sockets, and the staff have offered to provide extension cords if necessary. Nevertheless, you are still advised to arrive with your device fully charged, or to bring an old-school pen and notepad.
