Marlow Edition
Every now and then, you stumble across a place that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Marlow is one of those places. Tucked right at the edge of East 6th where the energy of “Dirty Sixth” begins to fade Marlow feels like a deliberate exhale from the late-night chaos. Hidden along East 6th overlooking Waller Creek, Marlow feels like the living room of that effortlessly stylish friend we all wish we had warm leather sofas, rich textures, glowing lights, lush greenery, and cocktails crafted with the kind of care that deserves to be savored rather than rushed. It’s elegant without trying too hard, intimate without being quiet, and just the right setting for an evening that could take an unexpected turn. And that contrast matters. Marlow itself lives in a beautifully restored historic mid-century building (yes, “historic” in the very USA sense, built in 1950, which counts…). It carries that old-Austin charm without trying to cosplay the past. Even more personal: the space is named after the owner’s daughter, which gives the whole place a sense of warmth and intention you can actually feel when you walk in. So put on something that makes you feel fabulous, leave the week’s stress behind, and join us for an evening of laughter, stories, sparkling conversation and perhaps a little sphallolalia. Let’s make the atmosphere as stylish as the venue. Ladies, you already know the assignment. Gentlemen, this is one of those nights to leave the athletic shorts, baseball caps, and flip-flops at home. Dress as though you might meet someone who makes your heart skip a beat… because you just might. Whether you’re hoping to meet someone special, make new friends, or simply enjoy one of Austin’s beautiful cocktail lounges with great company, this is your excuse to get out of the house. Quick note, this is a singles-only gathering. If you’re “it’s complicated,” “technically single”, this is not for you! Keeping the energy intentional, open, and genuinely single, people who are ready to meet other people who are actually ready to met you! No brings “dates”! Come curious. Come confident. And if someone catches your eye… Walk up and introduce yourself don’t be shy. Some people collect cocktail bars. We prefer collecting stories… and every once in a while, a phone number.
