MACS Goes To…The Symptomatic Surreal at the Freud Museum 🖼️
Join MACS at ‘Leonora Carrington: The Symptomatic Surreal’ at the Freud Museum near Finchley Road on Sunday 2nd August! 🖼️ This exhibition presents sketchbook drawings by Leonora Carrington created at the outbreak of the Second World War during a period of profound personal and political upheaval. British-born Mexican artist Leonora Carrington (1917–2011) is one of the most celebrated figures associated with Surrealism. She was a painter, novelist, and visionary whose sustained enquiry into the psyche informed her interests in mythology, psychology, alchemy, tarot, and other esoteric traditions. Read more here: About ‘The Symptomatic Surreal’ There will also be time to visit the rest of the Freud Museum, which is the final home of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, and his daughter Anna Freud, a pioneering child psychoanalyst.
