🏘️ The moon sighs lopsided in the indigo sky... you just know everything is strange, right now. There is a reason why London is better. 👋 Hey guys! This seems to be a pretty good year for J.J. Abrams, not only with this big ass production, but also with his upcoming return later this year as writer and director for The Great Beyond. This film, though, will be directed by his creative pal David Robert Mitchell, who you should absolutely know from his critically acclaimed It Follows. The story in this film will focus on the Platt family, who live in 1980s suburbia. Their lives are upended when a mysterious cosmic event rips their entire street and neighbourhood out of reality and transports them to an unknown, hostile location. And of course, here’s the whole thing: The plan for this Saturday afternoon will be to meet somewhere between the BFI or Leicester Square. I’ll give you those final details as we get closer to the time. Expect a Film & Social with predictions, a fun commentary, and a Letterboxd review at the end.
