🌺 Dahlia Dell, Dahlia Show & Thai Lunch — Golden Gate Park 🔆 In late summer, the Dahlia Dell in Golden Gate Park becomes one of the most quietly spectacular spots in San Francisco. Hundreds of dahlia varieties bloom in terraced beds — deep reds, purples, oranges, soft pinks — in sizes ranging from tiny pompons to blooms as wide as a dinner plate. Join me for a leisurely stroll to savor the Dahlia Dell in peak bloom. From there, it's a five-minute walk to the Hall of Flowers, where growers from across California will bring their finest blooms to the annual Dahlia Show. Ribbons are awarded for Best in Show, People's Choice, Best Arrangement, Nature's Oddities, and more. After taking in the prize-winning flowers, we'll head to an early lunch of Thai fare. ▪︎ PLEASE BRING CASH for your lunch! They will not give us separate checks. ▪︎ Meet at 10:00 am sharp at the western entrance to the Dahlia Dell (near the Conservatory of Flowers.) ▪︎ To get there: If driving, look for street parking in the Inner Sunset, near 9th Ave, and walk to the Dahlia Dell. (There's no time limit for street parking on Sundays.) On Muni, the N-Judah stops at 9th Ave & Irving, a block from the park entrance. ▪︎ PLEASE don't be a no-show. If your plans change, remember to update your RSVP prior to the event. ▪︎ A last minute cancellation will count as a no-show.
