August Meeting 2 - Whalefall (Daniel Kraus)
For the second August meeting, we will discuss Whalefall by Daniel Kraus. About to be made into a film by director and writer Brian Duffield, the book is a cinematic and ‘scientifically accurate thriller about a scuba diver who’s been swallowed by an eighty-foot, sixty-ton sperm whale and has only one hour to escape before his oxygen runs out.’ (Publisher) 'A brilliantly sustained and suspenseful tour de force of adventure writing, Kraus' aquatic thriller finds a diver hunting for his father's remains drawn inexorably into the belly of a sperm whale.’ -Waterstones https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/62919162-whalefall The meeting will be held at Zizzi St Katharine Docks, in their outdoor area looking out at the docks. Join us as we discuss this propulsive novel over a tasty Italian meal in a lovely setting. N.B. We will be charging an event fee of £3, non-refundable, to discourage no-shows and contribute to the running costs of the group. Please only sign up if you intend to come along as space is limited to make for an effective discussion!
