Hang & Jam: Electronica Session 🎶 🎧

Come hang out, discover new music, and share some of your favorite electronica tracks with fellow enthusiasts! Each attendee will have up to 10 minutes to play music for the group (we can play music off of my laptop if needed). Your selection can be 2–3 songs, or however you'd like to use your time within the 10-minute limit. This is a chance to introduce others to artists, albums, or tracks you think deserve to be heard. What counts as electronica? For this meetup, we're focusing on electronica as a broad, listening-oriented genre of electronic music. Electronica often emphasizes atmosphere, melody, texture, and experimentation. It can include styles such as ambient, downtempo, chillout, trip-hop, and other expressive electronic music. While there's some overlap between electronica and other genres such as techno and dubstep, these are generally more focused on repetitive rhythms and dancefloor-oriented club music. If you're deciding between tracks, lean toward music that fits the broader electronica tradition rather than music primarily intended for a club or rave setting. Meetup etiquette To make this enjoyable for everyone, please give each person's music your full attention while it's being played. Avoid talking over the music or holding side conversations during someone else's turn. Location Please note the location will be my apartment, and that I live close to the Crepevine location listed in Meetup. I'll share my address to those attending about a week before the event.
