Easy ride - Takanini, Pararekau Island, Evergreen cafe

This is a flat 26km ride on wide concrete pathways. We will accommodate riders who might want to come on a meetup ride for the first time, as long as you can do 26 km. This is suitable for all types of bikes, riding on designated cycle paths, pace is slow, suitable for all levels of rider experience and ability. (At the end, some could take the option of a very short but slightly more adventurous excursion around conifer grove - narrower paths, a little bit of metal, and a wooden walkway over the water.) RIDE DESCRIPTION: 1. First the short section of bikeway around Waiata Shores that's on the south side of the Papakura Stream. 2. Down the Southern motorway cycleway as far as the bridge. 3. The coastal bikeway to Pararekau Island 4. Around the island. 5. Down Pararekau Rd to Karaka Harbourside. 6. Past the picturesque Karaka Lakes reserve. 7. A couple of roads to the new (short) cycleway along the coast. 9. Lunch at the Evergreen cafe with its lovely view of the estuary (pictured). 10. Back to the motorway cycle way and back north to the starting point. 11. Optional: The coastal pathway around the Conifer Grove Peninsula\, ending at Brylee drive reserve.
