Macau Treks - Kickoff Visit

It's been a few years since we've made our way over to Macau as a group. Back then, they were still finishing the HK - Zhuhai - Macau Bridge, and the new immigration schemes that we all enjoy now were not around. For the past year or so, I've been thinking of ways that we can explore the surrounding areas (Shenzhen, Macau, Zhuhai) in quick and easy ways. I finally came to the realization that there's no better way to start than just to go and visit! Let's take the HZMBUS from the HZMBUS Passenger Clearance building near the airport for a quick 45-minute bus to Macau's Passenger Clearance. From there we can take a local bus to the famous Senado Square, walking over to the ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral. Those of you who've been to Macau will know there are lots of sights and sounds along the way. After a light lunch and maybe a quick coffee, we'll head back to Hong Kong. The goal is to practice for further trips to Macau, which has many amazing sights to see. This visit can pave the way for tours and more detailed adventures by proving to vendors that we've got a big enough group to make it worth their while. I'll be sending along more comprehensive details about the trip in the upcoming days and weeks. This will include specific details for immigration clearance, bus details, and other miscellaneous things you'd probably like to know. Remember there are faster and better ways to take these trips, but the fun in our trips, the real adventure, is visiting together. In the future, we'll look into charter buses, ferries, and all manner of transporting ourselves to these neighboring areas. Itinerary: 10:15 am - Take HZM "Golden" Bus to Macau. 11:00 am - Catch the local 101X to Senado Square. 12:00 am - Walk to Saint Paul's Ruins (and museum) and the NaTcha Temple. 1:00 pm - Find a "pick-me-up" at Margaret's Café e Nata 瑪嘉烈蛋撻店 or get an early lunch (more on that later). 2:00 pm - Back to the bus terminal 2:45 pm - Bus to H.K. 3:30 pm - Arrive in H.K.
