
Kyoto English Book Club Meetup to Discuss "Animal Farm".
1. We'll discuss "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. (120 pages long) About the book: Allegorical novella in which mistreated animals overthrow their human master. Initially establishing a utopian society based on equality, but things start to change... It is a sharp political allegory about the Russian Revolution. The book is considered to be a classic written in 1943, but it is still very much relevant in today's world. One of the must read books for everyone!! 2. Participants are asked to have either read the whole book or at least one third of it before the meetup. 3. We'll meet on August 9th. The meetup is to start at 14:00 jst. The participants are expected to come to the venue a few minutes before we officially start at 14:00. 4. The venue is "Cafe Veloce Karasuma Takoyakushi" a coffee shop near to Shijo Subway Station. It is alongside Karasuma-dohri (Karasuma Street). 5. What to discuss: our discussion will start off on discussion points(questions) related to the story\, which are pre-prepared by the organizer/co-organizer. Then we will move on to your general impression of the story\, what parts were difficult to understand\, how you liked the story\, and so on. Our discussion will be entirely conducted in English. 6.
