Watergrove and Cowm Reservoirs, via Healey Dell (11.5-mile moderate walk)

An 11.5-mile walk starting from the car park at Watergrove Reservoir, Wardle, near Rochdale. Having walked part-way round the reservoir, we pick up the Pennine Bridleway, then the Rochdale Way and finally the Rossendale Way, heading down to the spectacular, tree-lined, deep valley of Healey Dell. We pass through Healey Dell before heading back uphill to Cowm Reservoir. From Cowm, we head down into Whitworth, and then uphill and round Brown Wardle and Middle Hills before returning to Watergrove Reservoir and our cars. Well-behaved dogs welcome (but should be kept on a lead). The suggested donation for non-Ramblers Association (RA) members is £2 to cover Meetup costs. Please note that we restrict the number of places available on Meetup as (unlike other Meetup groups) we have a significant number of Ramblers who attend our walks and we ask them not to register as attending via this app. We would, therefore, respectfully request that you do not reserve a place on any walk unless you are sure that you will attend.
