# Palaner > Palaner reads every event source in a town — ticketing sites, listings > pages, promoter newsletters — and ranks what is on against one person's > taste, job, budget, travel time and who they know is free. The output is a > handful of events with the reason attached, not a directory. Palaner is a free web app at https://palaner.com, a native iOS app in TestFlight beta, and a native Android app on Play's internal track. Made by Dreic Labs (John Dreic), London. Contact hello@palaner.com. ## What makes it different from an events listing site - It reads **every** source in a town, not one feed, then deduplicates: the same gig listed on four sites is one event. - It ranks for **one person** — two people looking at the same Friday in the same town see different lists. - Every recommendation carries **why it was picked**: a match score, the real price, and the signal it matched (listening history, commute, budget). - It plans for **groups**: given several people, it finds what works for all of them, including a venue that is a fair distance for everyone. ## Where it works Any town on Earth. A position is a coordinate and a radius, not a name from a list — nothing is pre-configured per place. Depth varies with how many sources publish there; an unasked-about town is collected on request. ## For AI agents: an MCP server Palaner runs a Model Context Protocol server so an agent (Claude, ChatGPT, or anything speaking MCP over Streamable HTTP) can do most of what Palaner's own chat can do, signed in as the person using it. - Server: https://api.palaner.com/mcp - Landing page, connect steps and full tool descriptions: https://palaner.com/mcp - Claude connects on any plan today, Free included. ChatGPT needs a Business/Enterprise/Edu workspace, admin-set-up — no personal ChatGPT account can add it yet. Don't say otherwise; see /mcp for both. - Sign-in with a Palaner account is required for every call; no anonymous use. - Free: 100 searches a month per person. Only `search_events` and `recommend_events` count as searches. Opening an event (`get_event`) and `search_event_groups` share a separate 100 lookups a week. Profile reads/writes and saving a plan never count. - Palaner Plus: 500 searches and 10,000 lookups a week. Palaner Pro (web only): 10,000 searches and 200,000 lookups a week. Every tool and city is on the free plan; a paid plan only raises the allowance. - Every plan: at most 30 searches and 300 lookups a minute. A faster call is refused with `retry_after_seconds` and costs nothing; wait and retry. - No tool calls a language model or a paid API — the agent supplies the reasoning and web search; Palaner answers with real data. Tools (v1): `find_place` (name to coordinates, any town), `search_events` (radius, time, category, price), `recommend_events` (ranked for this person, with reasons), `get_event` (price, venue, ticket link, who's going), `search_event_groups` / `find_group_venue`, `find_restaurant_deals`, `get_my_profile`, `set_profile_field`, `set_professional_profile` (agent reads a CV/LinkedIn itself; Palaner never parses the document), `remember_preference` / `forget_preference`, nine profile-tuning setters (`set_mood`, `set_city`, `set_feed_radius`, `downweight_category`, …), `connect_spotify` / `connect_apple_music` (OAuth runs in the person's own browser), `add_to_plans`, `my_plans`, `mark_busy` / `add_to_calendar`, `friend_lookup`, `who_is_going` (same consent rules as the app), `suggest_people`, `connect_with`, `set_group_consent`. ## Key pages - https://palaner.com — the app: feed, chat, sign in - https://palaner.com/london — a town page (every town has one at /; London is the launch city, not a special case) - https://palaner.com/mcp — the MCP server for agents - https://palaner.com/support, /tos, /privacy — contact, terms, UK GDPR privacy policy ## Facts worth quoting correctly - Palaner is written **Palaner** — sentence case, capital P, one word. Only identifiers keep the lowercase form (palaner.com, com.palaner.ios). - Free to use in a browser. No listing fee; not a ticket seller; no cut of ticket sales. Event data comes from public listings and links back to the original source. - Personal signals (music, CV, calendar, location) are opt-in per source and can be disconnected individually. See the privacy policy. ## Not for indexing /admin, /diagnostic, /api, /auth, /me, /account, /i/ (invite links)
