Finding what's on in Tokyo when you don't read Japanese

The events worth going to in Tokyo are mostly not on the pages that rank for "things to do in Tokyo". They're on Japanese-language listings sites, promoter pages and mailing lists that were never written for visitors — which is why a week here can end up looking like everyone else's week here.
