Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 May 2026

Draft for review. These terms are a working draft prepared for Palaner's beta launch and are awaiting solicitor review. Some clauses may change before general availability.

1. Who we are

Palaner ("we", "us", "our") is a service operated by Dreic Labs Ltd, registered in England and Wales, with a principal place of business in London, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@palaner.com.

2. What Palaner does

Palaner is a personal social-event discovery service. It scans publicly available event sources on the web, uses AI to personalise the results based on what you tell it about yourself, and helps you plan nights out. Palaner does not sell tickets, host events, or represent any venue or promoter.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Palaner, since many of the events surfaced involve licensed venues.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account.
  • You agree to give us accurate information when you sign up, and to keep it up to date in your profile.
  • One person, one account. Don't share your login. Don't create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Palaner to:

  • Break any applicable UK law or anyone else's rights.
  • Scrape, mirror, or resell our event data, our user interface, or anything generated for you by our AI features.
  • Probe, attack, overload, or attempt to circumvent any rate-limit, quota, or security control on the service.
  • Upload other people's private information (photos, screenshots, contact details) without a lawful basis for doing so.
  • Use Palaner to harass, threaten, stalk, or impersonate anyone.
  • Reverse-engineer the service, except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. AI-generated content

Palaner uses third-party large-language-model providers (Anthropic Claude) and voice providers (OpenAI Whisper and TTS) to power its chat, voice, and personalisation features. AI output can be incorrect, out of date, or biased. Please don't rely on it for safety-critical decisions (medical, legal, financial). Event details, opening times, and ticket prices should always be double-checked with the venue or promoter before you go.

6. Intellectual property

The Palaner name, logo, brand assets, code, and user interface belong to Dreic Labs Ltd. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them only as part of your normal use of the service.

Content you submit (profile fields, chat messages, saved plans, photos you upload to extract details about people you know) remains yours. By submitting it you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process and store it strictly to operate the service for you. We do not claim ownership of it, and we don't use your private content to train AI models for anyone else.

7. Third-party services and events

Palaner surfaces events listed on third-party platforms (such as Resident Advisor, Eventbrite, Luma, Skiddle, Ticketmaster, Bandsintown, and others). Tickets, refunds, attendance policies, and any disputes about the event itself are between you and the venue, promoter, or ticketing provider. We are not a party to that transaction and can't intervene if it goes wrong.

8. Beta service and changes

Palaner is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed. The service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, third-party outages, or things we didn't see coming. We'll do our best to give notice, but we don't guarantee uptime or backwards compatibility during beta.

9. Pricing

Palaner is free to use during beta, subject to per-user usage quotas. We may introduce a paid tier in future; if we do, your existing data and account will not be locked behind a paywall you didn't consent to.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time from your profile settings, or by emailing us. Closure deletes your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if your account is dormant for a long period, or if we have to wind the service down.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that English law does not allow us to limit.

Beyond that, the service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that event information is accurate or complete, that the AI's suggestions will suit you, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period, or (b) £50.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or purely economic loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, or goodwill.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material we'll tell you by email or in-product. Continuing to use Palaner after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don't, you can close your account.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except that if you are a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
