A Royal Irish Academy and ALLEA workshop on what generative AI is doing to research practice, bringing ALLEA's Research Ethics and Integrity Council together with invited experts.
Daniel Carey, RIA president, and Maura Hiney MRIA open at 10:00. Professor Jeroen de Ridder of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, who chairs the drafting committee for the Dutch Code of Conduct for Scientific Integrity, gives the keynote on the Dutch experience. Short presentations follow on academic freedom, trust in science and the risk of declining research standards, then a panel with de Ridder, Deborah Oughton and Krista Varantola on whether existing codes still hold. Closes at 13:00 with lunch.
Why go: this is where the rules for AI-assisted research are being written, not just discussed. Best for researchers, research managers and anyone drafting institutional AI policy.
