UKAI's Sovereign AI Summit took place on Monday 2 November 2026 at The Oval in central London, and this date has now passed. The one-day conference opened at 9:30am with keynotes, panels and roundtables spread over six tracks: Responsible AI, Sustainable AI, Innovation, Investment, Work and Skills, and Trustworthy AI. UKAI's agenda put the opening keynote, 'Sovereign AI and Britain's industrial future', at 9:40–10:00 and the Sovereignty by Design report launch at 5:00–5:30pm, with networking drinks until 8:00pm. Quantum Britain, a parallel event on quantum capabilities, ran alongside. The day also included an innovation showcase and an evening awards dinner, where the Sovereign AI Awards winners were due to be announced. The speakers included Tim Flagg, co-founder and CEO of UKAI, the AI trade association that organised the summit, and Matthew Hodgson, CEO and CTO of Element and co-founder of the open-source Matrix project. Others on the list were Samantha Francis of UKRI, Baroness Dido Harding and Phil Smith CBE, Chair of Skills England. UKAI's day-long summit on sovereign AI: whether Britain should build its own AI stack, what government can usefully do, and where a mid-sized economy can specialise. The trade association runs it, so the room leans policy, procurement and infrastructure rather than product.

The full agenda is now published: around 30 sessions across six tracks - responsible AI, sustainable AI, innovation, investment, work and skills, trustworthy AI - with Quantum Britain running alongside all day. UKAI chief executive Tim Flagg opens at 09:30 and closes at 17:45, with a government keynote after the welcome. Named chairs and panellists include Matt Warman, Baroness Thangam Debbonaire, Will Bushby of the Sovereign AI Unit, Samantha Francis of UKRI and Matthew Hodgson of Element. The Sovereign AI Awards follow from 18:00, ticket holders only.

From £150 at The Oval in central London; UKAI publishes no street address. Ticket sales close on 30 October.

Why go: the clearest read you will get in one day on where UK AI policy and public money are heading. Best for policy, procurement and infrastructure leads rather than product people.
