HACKCEPTION: A hack within a hack

A one-day hackathon whose brief is to hack the hackathon: teams invent the most ambitious, ridiculous hack concept they can defend, prototype it, and argue it in front of judges. Hosted by the Lovable London community, with Rachel Macnaghten, Aru N, Reese Wong and Grace Greer running the day.

The published schedule is doors 10:30 for briefing and team formation, building 11:30 to 18:00, submissions and judging to 19:00, while the Luma header opens the day at 09:30. Capped at 100 places and screened on application. Winners get sponsor help actually building the idea. Free; further partners are still to be announced and the venue is shared on registration.

Why go: a build day with no product roadmap attached, which is where the better London hack ideas tend to start. Best for engineers and designers who want to prototype something speculative in a day.
