A Different Thread – Over Again UK Tour 2026

A Different Thread return to the UK stage in 2026 with their “Over Again UK Tour”, an eagerly anticipated journey across 20 locations that brings their award-winning Americana deeply rooted in transatlantic tradition back to British audiences. This North Carolina-based duo, formed by Alicia Best and Robert Jackson, blends the heartfelt storytelling and close harmonies born from their unique cultural partnership—melding American roots, Appalachian blues, and alt-country with British folk-rock influences.

The tour centers around their latest album, Over Again, released on May 1, 2026. The record, shaped by the duo’s reunion and settling together in North Carolina, explores themes of resilience, grief, change, and new beginnings. The title track has already earned high acclaim, winning the Folk/Americana category at the International Acoustic Music Awards. Their songs combine intimate narratives with broader social themes, held together by an organic instrumentation of acoustic guitar, fiddle, harmonica, and percussion, all underscored with their signature vocal harmonies.

A Different Thread’s live performances are known for their dynamic range—from quietly reflective storytelling to lively, foot-stomping Americana and engaging audience singalongs. The tour also features Birmingham double bassist Mike Seal, who complements the duo’s minimalist yet rich sound, as heard on Over Again.

Sharing a soulful blend of Anglo-American acoustic traditions, their music will appeal to fans of both British folk and contemporary Americana, offering a refreshing perspective on themes of connection and hope despite life’s challenges.
