Exhibition "The Moore Sisters: DEEP ROOTS" by Nancy L. Moore & Janet Moore

The Riverdale Hub Gallery is excited to present “The Moore Sisters: DEEP ROOTS“ by Nancy L. Moore and Janet Moore. On view from October 7th to November 3rd, 2026. Join us on Saturday, October 24th for reception from 2 to 4pm, artist talk begins at 3pm.

The Moore family has always been especially creative, with art and imagination woven into their lives from the beginning. Their father, Wayne, often painted en plein air, sharing his love of nature and the experience of painting outdoors. Deep Roots brings Nancy and Janet together for the first time to celebrate those family roots—and the different ways that creativity continues to grow through their own work.

Nancy explores nature through abstraction, using expressive lines, rich textures, and bold colours to capture mood, feeling, and a sense of place. Her work also reflects her concern for the environment, drawing attention to issues such as deforestation and tree conservation. Janet, based in Fernie, British Columbia, draws inspiration directly from the Rocky Mountain landscapes around her. An avid hiker, biker, and snowboarder, she often paints en plein air, creating vibrant, impressionistic works that capture the light, colour, and energy of the places she encounters.
