How Does Your Garden Grow explores these questions through the lives of eight people whose choices, desires and dilemmas reveal the complicated ways in which personal dreams collide with their own desires, familial expectations and societal pressures.
As their lives intersect, each is forced to look more closely at the beliefs they have inherited and the choices they have made.
Bulbul seizes a chance at a different life due to, for and via motherhood. Mohanraj, a successful businessman, grieves and longs for the same thing - an heir. Kabir, a landscape horticulturist, must learn that some of the most important gardens need tending, too. Arya has built the family and farm she once imagined as her utopia, only to discover that even a carefully chosen life can come undone.
Jai, a sustainable architect and single father, navigates the scrutiny and scepticism that come with his choices. Sowmya, an IT executive returning to India from Silicon Valley with her family, begins to question the assumptions she once took for granted. Meher, an indie news-channel head, discovers science catching up with what she has always stood by as she nurtured the world around her. Raaga, a fiercely independent journalist accustomed to seeking the truth in everyone else`s stories, is confronted with a task that becomes too relevant to her crucial personal situation.
