CHICAGO

A universal tale of fame, fortune, and notoriety comes to Mumbai. CHICAGO—the longest-running American musical in Broadway history—arrives at The Grand Theatre after captivating audiences around the world for nearly three decades.

Step into the glittering, corrupt world of 1920s CHICAGO, where scandal, celebrity, and ambition take centre stage. Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the Jazz Age, this razor-sharp dark satire exposes the seductive allure of fame and the spectacle of scandal with wit, style, and unforgettable music.

When housewife and nightclub dancer Roxie Hart murders her lover, she lands in the Cook County Jail alongside vaudeville star Velma Kelly. Determined to avoid conviction, Roxie hires Chicago's smooth-talking criminal lawyer Billy Flynn, who transforms her crime into a media sensation, manipulating the public, the press, and even her rival, Velma, in a spectacle of scandal and showmanship.

Based on the 1926 play of the same name, CHICAGO was adapted for the stage by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Featuring Bob Fosse's iconic jazz choreography, a sensational live orchestra, and beloved songs such as All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, When You're Good to Mama, Roxie, and Hot Honey Rag. The musical was also brought to the big screen in 2002, with the acclaimed film adaptation starring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere. Directed by Rob Marshall, the film won six Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, introducing CHICAGO's dazzling world of music, murder, and ambition to a global audience.

Winner of six Tony Awards®, two Olivier Awards®, and a Grammy Award®, CHICAGO remains one of Broadway's most celebrated musicals. Sharp, stylish, and endlessly entertaining, it continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its timeless style and irresistible humour.

Don't miss the chance to experience one of Broadway's greatest musicals live and discover why the name on everyone's lips is still... CHICAGO.
