Sufi Qawwali Mehfil, Pune
One of Once Upon India's most loved and grandest formats, the Sufi Qawwali Mehfil, comes to Pune for the first time!
Fifteen qawwals take the stage together, dressed in pristine white, with their heads covered and voices rising as one. They sing the qawwalis everyone knows, along with those fewer have heard, from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and other revered names in the tradition. It's an experience beyond words, one that shifts the room and takes you somewhere else entirely.

About the Troupe
Trained under A. R. Rahman at his KM Music Conservatory in Chennai, the KM Sufi Ensemble has carried its craft to stages across the world, and everywhere it goes, it carries something deeper than just the music.
Its qawwali is rooted in a true understanding of the form, its history, its devotion, and its purpose. Led by Munna Ji, the seasoned artist handpicked by A. R. Rahman who has written qawwalis with the legend, the ensemble doesn't just perform qawwali; it lives it and draws you into that same state of surrender, one verse at a time.
