Some musical relationships last a lifetime. Others continue through the music long after the maestros are gone.

For sarangi artist Sabir Sultan Khan, this concert is deeply personal. It honours his father and guru, Ustad Sultan Khan, and Ustad Zakir Hussain, the mentor and collaborator with whom he shared a musical relationship spanning more than two decades.

The evening brings together two distinct ensembles with Sabir Suktan Khan. The Legacy draws on family ties, shared training and the passing of musical traditions from one generation to the next. Duplessy and The Violins of the World brings Indian sarangi into conversation with French guitar, Chinese erhu and Mongolian morin khuur.

At the heart of the evening is a simple idea: music carries the influence of those who teach us, perform beside us and change the way we listen.
