Screening - Goutam Ghose's Yatra

Goutam Ghose's 2006 Hindi drama Yatra follows Dasrath Joglekar (Nana Patekar), a cynical, celebrated novelist who travels to Delhi to receive an honor for his autobiographical work Jaanaza, sharing his journey and past with a filmmaker on the train. The narrative blurs the lines between fact and fiction as Dasrath's past relationship with Lajwanti (Rekha)-a classical courtesan now reduced to performing as a cabaret dancer named Miss Lisa-intertwines with his present life, reflecting on the commodification of art, the erosion of traditional aesthetics, and the complex inner life of a misunderstood creator.
