If you've ever wanted to listen to three weird, wonderful but
scientifically sound talks while sipping on a fine wine or beer,
Nerd Nite London is your place. Three speakers give
18-21-minute fun yet informative talks across all disciplines,
while the audience drinks along.

After our summer break we're back for Halloween with three super
supernatural talks by Nerd Nite favourites and a fascinating NN
newcomer.
Korean poet, scholar and educator Dr Melanie Hyo-In-Han
unveils ghostly tales of restless women in Korean folklore -
from a shapeshifting fox to a rebellious princess who, shunned as a
female, reclaims her power as the mother of Korean
shamanism.
Author, presenter and producer Deborah Hyde investigates
the legend of the Werewolf of Hull aka the Beast of
Barmston, or more evocatively... Old Stinker. A foul-smelling,
furry and furious creature spotted terrorising the waterways of
East Yorkshire for the last 300 years! Is there really a werewolf
prowling around Hull?
Paranormal investigator and academic extraordinaire Chris
French (as heard on Uncanny) asks if the excavations of
Glastonbury Abbey were actually led by archaeologists from the
afterlife. Did long-dead monks really communicate by automatic
writing, or was it a book-sales boosting publicity stunt!? Or do
archaeologists just love cider as much as Time Team
suggests?!

Be there and be square.
All profits from Nerd Nite London go to charity. For each
event we ask our Facebook followers to help choose which charity we
should support.
To choose October's charity please email [email protected]
with the word 'CHARITY' in the subject line followed by the charity
you wish proceeds to go to. We've picked three London-based
environmental charities to choose from:
London Youth –
who run the Keeping It Wild project, bringing the youth and
conservation sectors together
Ecoactive – an innovative environmental education
charity, offering workshops and courses for schools and community
groups
Roots and
Shoots – an award-winning independent educational and
environmental charity based in Kennington, South London
