Karaoke, with a live band behind you.
No backing tracks. You choose the song, you take the
microphone, and a full live band picks it up behind you — drums,
bass, guitar, the lot. It's the closest most of us will ever get to
fronting a band, and it happens every Friday at Highballer on
Stockport Market Place.
Ninety minutes, bottomless. And when we say
bottomless, we mean it. Not one house fizz and a lager — the full
list. Vimto Mojitos, Long Island Iced Teas, Espresso Martinis,
Lynchburg Lemonades, Brambles, prosecco and pints of Highballer
Lager, all night long for the whole ninety minutes.
Not drinking? Three proper non-alcoholic cocktails,
same ninety minutes, £29 per person.
Being able to sing is optional, and has never once
been the point. Put your name down when you arrive, get a drink in,
and wait for the band to call you up.
From £48.60 per person, or £29 non-alcoholic. Fridays,
8–9.30pm. Over 18s.
We're on Market Place, overlooking the Market Hall.
The bar is open from 4pm and keeps going long after the band stops
— pool, darts and cocktails all night, and a live cover band in
every Saturday if you want to make a weekend of it.
No frills, just chills.
