(JEEP MIX) x STANDARD TIME PRESENT
RICK WILHITE (DETROIT)

Saturday, October 24
Standard Time — Toronto

(JEEP MIX) and Standard Time welcome one of Detroit’s most respected selectors, Rick “The Godson” Wilhite, for a night dialed into the deep musical lineage of the Motor City.

For more than three decades, Rick Wilhite has been an essential figure in Detroit’s underground. A DJ, producer, record dealer and lifelong student of music, his story runs through some of the city’s most important musical institutions and relationships.

He is a member of the legendary Three Chairs alongside Theo Parrish, Kenny Dixon Jr. (Moodymann) and Marcellus Pittman — four artists whose raw, soulful and uncompromising approach helped define a particular strain of Detroit house music.

But Rick’s influence extends far beyond his own records. Through Vibes New & Rare Music, his Detroit record store and later compilation series, Wilhite became a trusted source for DJs, collectors and producers searching for music outside the obvious. His ear has always crossed boundaries — deep house, disco, soul, funk, techno, jazz, rare grooves and everything between.

That same philosophy defines a Rick Wilhite DJ set. There is no formula and no destination in Rick’s set’s. He chooses records for the room he’s in, a true pro. Deep, raw, soulful, strange, uplifting and unmistakably Detroit. Music for dancers and listeners.

HAF S (JEEP MIX), aka HXF, is a Toronto-based DJ, producer, artist, and cultural connector with over 25 years rooted in dance music. Moving between house, techno, and everything in between, his work is about bridging gaps — between sounds, people, generations, and dance floors. Collaboration is at the heart of it, bringing people together to create something that lasts.

That same spirit drives (JEEP MIX) — a long-running radio show turned platform for events, DJ sets, production, collaboration, and soon, a record label. As a producer, HAF S has released original music on Lab.Our and Re:Think along with his beat tapes, with new music forthcoming on NDATL Muzik, Re:Think, SELECTIONS, and AOW. Whether behind the decks, in the studio, or curating a room, the mission remains the same: build community, document the culture, and push Toronto’s underground forward.
