OFF Broadway: Ryan Shaw & Ray Angry

GRAMMY nominated vocal powerhouse Ryan Shaw and multi award winning pianist, composer, producer Ray Angry (also a member of The Roots) present OFF Broadway, a very special musical journey celebrating their new album. This intimate evening of music and storytelling features soul-inspired contemporary versions of classic Broadway songs spanning seven decades. Songs include "My Way," (Sinatra: The Musical), "She Used To Be Mine" (Waitress), "Gethsemane" (Jesus Christ Superstar), "On Broadway" (Smokey Joe's Cafe), "Surprise" (A Chorus Line), "Without You" (Rent), "Waving Through A Window" (Dear Evan Hansen), "On The Street Where You Live" (My Fair Lady) and "Send In The Clowns" (A Little Night Music), as well as personal favorites by Stephen Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Talkin' Broadway Ray Angry is known for his work as a member of The Roots, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, composing television and film scores for award-winning productions, composing major orchestral works, and music directing for and performing with many of today’s top artists. Ryan Shaw has shared the world stage with such artists as Van Halen, Bonnie Raitt, John Legend, B.B. King and Jill Scott. His music has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with The Stars, Grey’s Anatomy, and the films My Blueberry Nights and Bride Wars and the Sex and the City soundtrack. He starred as Judas in the Lyric Opera production of Jesus Christ Superstar, as the original Stevie Wonder in Motown: The Musical on Broadway, and on London’s West End as the Soul of Michael Jackson in Thriller Live. Ryan debuted at Radio City Music Hall in the Dream Concert benefit for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. His Carnegie Hall appearances include Elton John and Bernie Taupin Tribute, A Celebration of The African American Cultural Legacy, and a Nat King Cole 100th concert with the NY Pops.
