An Evening with Pachinko author Min Jin Lee: American Hagwon

Min Jin Lee, author of Pachinko, comes to Kings Place in London on Thursday 22 October 2026 for an Intelligence Squared evening about American Hagwon, Lee's new novel. Nicola Dinan chairs the conversation, which runs from 7:30pm to 9pm and finishes with an audience Q&A. The novel takes place during the 1997 Asian financial crisis and centres on the Koh family. Kings Place is at 90 York Way, London N1 9AG, close to King's Cross. This is the only London date on Min Jin Lee's official events list for the American Hagwon tour. Lee has three other UK dates that week, all outside London: Bath on 20 October, Contact Theatre in Manchester on 21 October and Edinburgh on 23 October.
