EDDI, the European DDI Users Conference, is the yearly gathering for people who work with DDI, the metadata specifications used in the social, economic and behavioural sciences. The 18th edition takes place in Brussels, with the main conference on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 December 2026 at U - Residentie of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (271 Boulevard Général Jacques, 1050 Ixelles), from 09:00 CET. It draws DDI users from archives, research studies, official statistics, government, NGOs and companies. The two conference days are part of a wider EDDI week: tutorials and workshops on Monday 30 November at the State Archives of Belgium in Brussels, then side meetings and a hackathon on 3–4 December. EDDI 2026 is hosted by SODHA, the State Archives of Belgium and the Brussels Institute for Social and Political Sciences (BSPO) at VUB. It is an in-person event. The programme and registration are at events.geant.org/e/eddi2026, and the final registration deadline is 26 November 2026. The Eventbrite listing allows refunds up to 7 days before the event.
