Could even be music. Maybe it’s none of the above and everything at the same time. Could be a Suicide song. Or a song from under the floorboards. A naive melody in the style of Melody Nelson. Or maybe, it’s the absence of all those things. It’s the solo project of Nick Hinman, an American-born, East London-based musician and producer, molding his love of angular post-punk, playful art-pop, and no wave eccentricity into a world that’s equal parts melody and mischief. Since its inception in late 2022, FMM has released two EPs and a debut album, played shows across the UK and in Paris, seen radio support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, FIP and RTL2, write ups from SPIN, Flaunt, DIY, Far Out, Clash, and HERO Magazine, a TV appearance on France24’s Arts24, and editorial support from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Qobuz.
