<strong>Short Film Screenings </strong> <strong>An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with White Wall Screenings</strong> Many wonderful short films are being made in India. Filmmakers are at work in their own regions, devising bold, new ways to experiment with form and technique. Short Film Corner hopes to be a showcase for these films and open a dialogue between the filmmakers and their audiences. <strong>Ghamela</strong> <strong>Hindi & Marathi with English Subtitles (28 mins)</strong> Bharat’s life is upended when his wife asks for a gold necklace for Dhanteras, the festival during which buying gold is believed to bring prosperity. Determined to fulfil her wish, he embarks on an unexpected journey through Mumbai’s underbelly. As the festival approaches, will he succeed before time runs out? Directed by <strong>Vasudha Rungta</strong> <strong>How to Find the Love of Your Life </strong><strong>Hindi & English with English Subtitles (6 mins)</strong> This quirky, vibrant and emotionally honest short film is about a generation fluent in ways of the world—especially love—yet terrified of real vulnerability. It attempts to capture the energy of India’s urban youth—relentless, restless, chaotic, yearning and always seeking more while quietly asking a simple question: what if the love we’re chasing begins with showing up as we are? Directed by <strong>Rohan S. Patne</strong> <strong>Loop Line </strong><strong>Marathi with English Subtitles (8 mins)</strong> In the heart of Mumbai, a middle-aged Maharashtrian housewife endures her husband’s chauvinism and the tedium of relentless chores. The husband’s departure for work grants her a moment’s peace, but his return with misogynistic colleagues shatters it. After a particularly demeaning remark from him, she fantasises about serving pakoras made from her own brain. These flights of fancy are her only escape from the monotonous rhythm of her domestic life. Directed by <strong>Renuka Shahane</strong> <strong>My Parents Don’t Fit </strong><strong>English with English Subtitles (5 mins)</strong> A little boy is perplexed and annoyed by the fact that his mother is taller than his father. He sets out on a mission to correct this gross error in a patriarchal world where he sees that men are supposed to be taller than their wives. Will he succeed? Directed by<strong> Neha Singh</strong> <strong>Dahi </strong><strong>Hindi & English with English Subtitles (5 mins)</strong> There’s a bright side to not being able to sleep at night, if you aren’t alone. It is fascinating how many conversations we are capable of, especially on nights that don’t have any agenda. <em>Dahi </em>is an experimental film which focuses on five such conversations. Directed by <strong>Arsh Kaur Lamba</strong> <strong>The screening will be followed by a Q&A session. </strong> <strong>Entry free on a first come, first served basis. NCPA Members will get preferential seating till 6.20 pm.</strong>
