<strong>Madi Padharo Re...</strong> <strong>Raas-Garba Nritya by Avani Shah & troupe</strong> <strong>An NCPA Presentation</strong> For the last 40 years, <strong>Avani Shah</strong> has expressed her devotion to Durga through the vibrant tradition of <em>raas-garba</em>. A trained Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer, she transitioned from classical repertoire (or <em>varnam</em>) to create her own signature style, ‘swarnam’. As a choreographer and founder of her troupe, NrityAvani, she is known to blend tradition with creativity. At the NCPA, NrityAvani will present a special performance featuring 40 dancers celebrating Gujarati folk music and the spirit of Navratri.
