Creative Writing Panel

The Creative Writing Panel brings together two poets (Mike Guinn and Mag Gabbert) and two playwrights (Kit Lozano and Stratton Rushing) for a conversation about creativity, identity, and the role each plays in their respective industries. The panel will explore how writers navigate cultural and social expectations, how those pressures shape their creative work, and the challenges of reconciling the self with the identities or expectations imposed upon us. Panelists will also discuss career opportunities for creative writers and the different professional paths available to those working in poetry, playwriting, and related fields. By bringing poetry and playwriting into conversation, the event highlights both the shared and distinct ways writers use their craft to examine identity, community, and creative expression.
