King Britt is an American record producer, composer, performer, educator, and DJ and–according to Decoded Magazine–a “creative mastermind.” He has performed worldwide at venues and festivals, including Berghain, Big Ears, Summerstage, and Le Guess Who. The original DJ for the Grammy Award-winning group Digable Planets, he also curates Blacktronica electronic music festivals. Britt is a professor in computer music at UC San Diego, where he created Blacktronika: Afrofuturism in Electronic Music, a course honoring innovators of color across genres like House, Techno, and Drum & Bass.

Proudly supported by Ideastream Public Media, official media partner of Oberlin's Artist Recital Series and Opera Theater productions.
