Join Katrina Miller, award-winning science reporter for the New York Times, for a talk and follow-on discussion with Professor Anthony Dudo, program director for science communications in UT’s Center for Media Engagement, based in the Moody College of Communications.

Pivoting from a Ph.D. in particle physics, where she was conducting basic science research, to reporting on science, Katrina Miller has direct experience with the different ways people communicate about science today. Hear how she crafts her own stories and thinks about the current responsibility and future role of science journalism, in an environment of changing public assumptions about STEM.

Plan to arrive early for a pre‑talk reception with the author at 4:00 p.m. RSVPs will be accepted through Sept. 24 for guests who wish to reserve a spot at the event and attend the pre- and post-event receptions.

RSVP here by Sept. 24

This talk is part of the New Equations talk series, organized by the College of Natural Sciences. Each long semester, the college convenes faculty, students, staff and friends to hear from a guest speaker and gather for discussion. Renowned authors and thought leaders engage in conversations that lift up stories and context from across disciplines to explore ideas and experiences at the intersection of science and society.
