Filmmaker Anna Kipervaser in person
A program of lyrical experimental films by Anna Kipervaser that enact rituals of love, loss, homeplace, and dying—where beginnings and endings fold perpetually into one another. Moving between personal intimacy and ecological entanglement, these works span quiet family portraits, shifting landscapes, and mythic drifts across open seas. Moving between silence and sound, stillness and motion, the domestic and the collective, these films listen closely to the passage of time and the lingering imprints humans leave on the earth. Together, these films form an unbound meditation on impermanence—a deep, persistent longing that moves through time, place, and the body.
Anna Kipervaser’s work spans multiple disciplines, including experimental and documentary moving image works in both 16mm film and video. Her films screen internationally at festivals, in classrooms, galleries, museums, microcinemas, basements, and school houses, and are included in private collections and distributed by Canyon Cinema, CFMDC, Alchemiya, and Projectr. She is also a painter, printmaker, educator, curator of exhibitions, and programmer of screenings.
