SNAG (Saturday Night at Glidden)

The J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center is excited to announce that tickets are now available for the third annual Saturday Night at Glidden (SNAG) fundraiser, taking place on Saturday, September 26, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Glidden Homestead, 921 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb. This unique event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the historic site where Joseph F. Glidden invented "The Winner" barbed wire, forever changing the American West. Attendees will have the chance to celebrate on the site where history happened, all while enjoying music, food, and exciting prizes, with proceeds benefiting the preservation and operations of this landmark. We'll also unveil some surprises and the latest updates in the barn restoration progress. Joseph Glidden was one of the first benefactors for NIU with the donation of 63 acres of his land in 1898 for the establisment of the Northern Illinois State Normal School.
