The 6th annual NC State Blue Economy Workshop is a 1.5-day interdisciplinary, student-focused event to create ideas for sustainable, technology-driven solutions for ocean and coastal ecosystems. Integrated into NC State's Climate and Sustainability Academy, the workshop bridges marine science, engineering, social science and business, which are all part of the blue economy. This year's design-thinking event will address innovations for what’s grown and caught in coastal North Carolina. Attendees will interact with panel experts discussing future food innovations, technological innovations and principles of ecosystem technologies (Ecotech) applied to the blue economy. You'll learn from past workshop attendees about the pathways NC State offers to carry forward the innovative ideas they create at the workshop.

The workshop will be held Oct. 23-24 on the Carteret Community College campus in Morehead at the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center and the Center for Marine Science and Technology.
