Join the NC State University Libraries for a conversation with NC State alumnus Matthew Klassa, a senior consultant at Sequence. Klassa leads engineering teams in the commission and qualification of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, helping bring life-saving medicines to patients.
Klassa will share his journey from paper manufacturing to pharmaceutical engineering to project leadership. Along the way, he has learned the value of building a broad engineering perspective, making decisions grounded in personal values and focusing on purpose. Students will gain insight into navigating career transitions, identifying opportunities beyond their degree path and developing the leadership skills needed to build trust early in their careers.
In 2023, Klassa graduated from NC State, where he earned dual degrees in chemical engineering and paper science and engineering and minors in business administration and leadership. He earned a master's degree in chemical engineering in 2025.
The talk is part of the Emerging Engineers series, a combination of speaker events and workshops designed to create a sense of belonging and community for those interested in engineering. It will include a Q&A session and snacks.
