The Bug Ballet is a playful and haunting adaptation of The Bug Book, a novella by celebrated illustrator and designer Edward Gorey. A colony of insects encounter a stranger in their neighborhood; despite half-hearted attempts at friendly relations, it is not a success…
The company, led by Professor Jeanine Tesori alongside director, choreographer, and Yale alumnus Thomas Kannam, features talent from across Yale’s undergraduate and professional schools. Set to Camille Saint-Saëns’ iconic musical suite Le Carnaval des animaux, this new work is a grim and strangely witty study of our fear of the other.
