This summer, five MHC students traversed the unknown landscape of self-conducted independent projects.

Our panelists faced daunting tasks: researching pedagogy and somatics in dance; producing a solo gallery show featuring a complete series of experimental paintings; shooting a psychological horror short film; crafting an 8-episode audio drama; and constructing a documentary on Christian nationalism. Would they be able to handle the trials set before them and successfully pilot projects of their own? (Spoilers: Yes, they would!) Join this panel for a lively discussion about the creative process, community engagement, independent project management in creative fields, and the celebration of storytelling in a multitude of mediums. Only at Mount Holyoke College on October 16, 2026.
